COSTA RICA: Google Maps will take you to the moon and Mars

The mapping service Google launched a new feature for its users to "navigate" through the surface of the Moon and the Red Planet. 

This is the application that explores the Earth, Mars and the Moon. | GOOGLE MAPS This is a novelty gift to celebrate the second year of Curiosity robot, which reached Mars after traveling 567 million kilometers, and has become the ally of the NASA Mars to find out if offered suitable environment for microbial life. 

"Today you can go to Google Maps, see the Earth in 360 and also the lunar surface and explore the Red Planet ... a big change for Astronomy classes," the company said yesterday in a press release. 

The new offering from Google Maps provides users with images obtained by NASA, also combined with relevant data from the satellite and planet. 

On the Moon, "travelers" will see the sea of Tranquility and the crater Cabeus, among other accidents. 



Meanwhile, on Mars, the Tharsis region and map of Mount Olympus, Mount Taris and valleys Marineris, will be among the main attractions. 

The user must enter the Google Maps website (https://maps.google.es), select the "Land" option in the lower left corner of the screen. Then you must zoom out using the mouse on your computer, and finally, you can choose: Earth, Moon or Mars. 

The information displayed offers mixed models with satellite images. 

The application also allows you to learn additional information such as latitude, longitude, diameter and origin of the name of the craters, among others
