The owners of the Foursquare application, which since its launch in 2009 was focused on stop location records and opinions of the places we visit daily, have decided to shelve the system of check-ins to make it a "yellow pages "that will find places according to the tastes of the users and tips for consumption.
The new version 8.0.0 can be downloaded from the Wednesday the 50 million users of the application. The app description reads as follows: "If our tastes are different why should we get the same search results? The new Foursquare learns what you like and directs you to places that you will love. "
Now the app works from the likes stored in the user profile. For example, if a person registers the word "poultry", the application will provide a close option to buy, even relate the term with other such as "food" or "restaurants". In addition, it will give you a few tips and inform you if any of your contacts has already been there.
Furthermore, the option to check-ins will not disappear entirely. Foursquare launched a few months ago called Swarm parallel application with features similar to the old version. There may still be doing check-ins and get virtual rewards, such as being the leader of a property or get medals.
