Social Security doctors removed tumor 60 kilos to 51 year old woman in Cabo San Lucas

Doctors of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) removed a tumor of 60 kilos to a 51 years in Los Cabos, the institute reported. 

The patient, Mercedes Talamantes, had a tumor lodged in her reproductive tract, which grew from five years ago. 

The director of the General Hospital of Zone 26 Cabo San Lucas, Moses Aaron Nunez, said the case of women is something that has not been seen before. 

No global precedent of a similar case of intra-abdominal tumors over 60 kilos 200 grams, "said Nuñez, in a press conference with local media. 



Multimedia Image Group attempted to obtain further details of the hospital authorities about the procedure, but so far has received no reply. 

Nuñez said that the patient is removed both ovaries, one tumor was 60.2 kilos and another that had already increased to five kilos and the matrix is removed, the medical team to find many fibroids. 

The woman also underwent a reconstruction of abdomen, a procedure that took four hours to remove excess skin. Woman surgery was performed early last month.
