Medicinal plants 80 percent prevent diseases

The biologist Mauricio González suggests that the diseases that people face are because we move away from the natural 

 Use of medicinal plants can prevent up to 80 percent of the diseases that people suffer from today, said biologist Mauricio González Ferrara. 

He said the diseases that people face today are due to turn away from the natural, "which is why I naturally have to retake." 

He noted that more than 25 thousand years man has studied the healing properties of plants making them a key to improving their quality of life source. 



Medicinal plants have been the basis of medicine; today, according to the World Health Organization, 80 percent of the world's population still depends on the use of medicinal plants, he said. 

"The diseases that we face today is because we move away from what is natural," he said in an interview specialist graduated from the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL). 

He added that do not necessarily have to have medicinal plants, "the simple fact that when the food our food with some spices, garlic, onion, tomato, cinnamon natural products you can find in our pantry improve our quality of life. "

The biologist, specialist in medicinal plants, said that at present can be seen many epidemics and diseases, despite being in a modern, full of medical research, such as cancer, diabetes and hypertension, among other era. 

He said that there are 25 000 medicinal plants, five thousand in Mexico and 500 in the world in Nuevo Leon with different properties and can be found in different forms such as pills, shakes, tea, milk solids or fluids, creams, lotions, etc., he said. 

In the northeast region, said, medicinal plants that can be found are the "thundering" used to control the sugar, "because of dragon's blood" used for hair problems, but also has antifungal properties, inflammatory, anti-cariogenic. 

Also, the "chicalote" used for malaria control in countries as far away as Africa, "although it is native to our region." 

González Ferrara, who teaches a course on Herbalism in Northeast Museum (MUNE) comprising six sessions and completed until July 15, stressed the importance of taking tea, as one of melissa or damiana that help fight stress that accumulates at the end of day.

"A space or time for yourself in your life and changing so fast that we live in the city, as a good tea and a cuddle" will cure all diseases, he said.
