IFAI seeks to present criteria to classify junk food

Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris), it shall disclose the criteria to classify a food as "junk food", according to which ruled the Federal Institute for Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data, the IFAI. 

This happened after a citizen asked the "criteria for considering a product is junk food" so that dependence replied that this approach was "nonexistent" and was just "process" to develop nutritional standards for advertising and labeling. 




In reviewing this request for information, the IFAI determined that it is the obligation of the Cofepris do a thorough search in all the files to inform the citizens what is billed as "junk food". 

And with a second request from the same city for the numbers of tons of seized drugs, Cofepris replied that in 2013 173 tons of medicines made ​​sure, however you must give the applicant a citizen of the information, documents that support this fact.
