Two American F-18 crash in the Pacific Ocean

Two American fighter F / A-18 Hornet crashed Thursday in the western Pacific Ocean, said in a statement today the American Navy. 

One pilot was rescued and is receiving medical treatment, while a second is still missing and has initiated a search and rescue operation. 


Both fighters had taken off from the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, which since September 9 performing maneuvers in the Pacific with a group of naval attack including three destroyers and a guided missile cruiser. 

The destroyers and helicopters are participating in the work of search for the missing pilot.

The causes of the accident are being investigated and the fighters have not been recovered.
