Apple plans to equip its new iPhone with a mobile wallet that allows the owner to make secure payments by phone in a store by simply touching the screen, Bloomberg reported citing a person familiar with the matter.
The agreement includes the participation of Visa, MasterCard and American Express and will be announced on September 9 in the presentation of the new phone, the source, who asked not to be identified by Bloomberg privacy of conversations.
The new iPhone will simplify mobile payments to include a special chip communication, along with a fingerprint recognition reader already present in the latest phone, the source told the Sunday.
It was not immediately possible to contact Apple, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
