The head of the Ministry of Health (SS), Mercedes Juan López, stressed that Mexico has the capacity to timely detect the presence of chikungunya virus and Ebola fever in the country.
As relates to the virus that causes chikungunya fever, a viral disease transmitted to humans by mosquitoes, and there have been cases in America.
During the inauguration of the VII Meeting of the National Health Council (Conasa) that took place in the state of Querétaro, indicated that various topics, among which are those two health problems discussed in that meeting.
He also spoke of preventive actions from the first level of care; urged health headlines from around the country to strengthen, with a view to the culture of self-care.
The Seventh Ordinary Meeting of the National Conasa continue until Friday and represents an opportunity for reflection, analysis and exchange of experiences to guide decision-making and the implementation of actions in health.
