An aircraft carrier Lebanese Middle East Airlines today landed at Rome's Fiumicino airport after his commander activated the bomb threat protocol, alerted by the presence of a stranger on board package.

The incident took place early in the afternoon when the aircraft, an Airbus A320, crossing the Italian airspace as part of their journey between Geneva and Beirut, according to local media.

The same sources added that cabin crew were alerted the commander who had located a suitcase that did not belong to any of the passengers.

By activating the alarm as a precaution, the aircraft was quickly escorted by two fighter Eurofighter until Roman moon base, where it has been parked in a secluded area surrounded by security forces.

After lowering the 118 passengers and seven crew members aboard, the body of the bomb Italian border police proceeded to subdue the aircraft controls and relevant inspections.

These operations have forced the airport authorities to close two adjacent tracks, which is causing some delays in traffic.
