Ashik Gavai has set a world record after removal of 232 teeth in an operation that lasted seven hours at the Hospital Mumabi's JJ hospital in India.
Gavai, just 17 years old, was a year and a half to suffer a pain in the jaw that had intensified in recent months. The doctors in his village were unable to identify the cause of pain, so his father decided to take him to Mumbai for treatment.
Severe pain in the right side of the jaw Gavai was identified as a compound odontoma complex, which causes one form many teeth gum. As explained by Dr. Sundana Dhiware it is a benign tumor.
"Once we open it, little that seemed pearls teeth began dating one to one First, we were gathering, they really were like little white pearls.., But then began to tire We have 232 teeth," said Dhiware doctor, responsible surgery.
Until then the maximum of extracted teeth in similar cases had been 37, which has made for a historical record Gavai. "In 30 years of career had never seen anything like it," said Dr. excited.
