Hemophilia is an incurable condition characterized by a genetic deficiency in the X chromosome, men suffer and its characteristic is that patients lack the "Factor 8", which allows for proper blood clotting.

In the absence of that factor, patients are likely to have bleeding in different parts of the body, may even be asymptomatic and only walking, coughing or sneezing, bleeding.

He explained that while Francis had improved, over time the body began to refuse treatment, so had to switch to one called "Factor 7", which cost 60 thousand pesos per unit, representing an investment of high cost due to the number of vials that have requested.

For child care, the Health Authority has invested more than seven million pesos with Seguro Popular resources, as to the treatment of youth has been necessary also called Anti-hemophilic factor, a glycoprotein contained in blood plasma which promotes clotting.

The process is not over and although Francisco has improved, "we are in the process of treatment to return to the 'Factor 8,' which will require an annual investment of three to four million in medicine," said Secretary God bless you.

Until the creation of Seguro Popular, these patients died from lack of access to health services and treatment because there was a financing scheme.
