ORACLE EXPECTED TO ATTRACT A NEW MOBILE DEVELOPERS WITH FRAMEWORK

Oracle expects to attract more developers with MAF (Mobile Application Framework), which aims to simplify the development of cross-platform business applications for smartphones and tablets.

As a result of the increasing number of smartphones and tablets that have employees, software vendors are focusing increasingly on how to make more friendly to mobile business applications. On Monday, Oracle announced updates to your Mobile Suite, which aims to do just that.

The heart of the new release is MAF, which builds on cross-platform development tools Oracle already offers. The framework allows developers to choose between IDE (integrated development environment) JDeveloper and Enterprise Pack for Eclipse. Developers can also choose from several development languages, among which are Java, JavaScript and HTML5, when developing native applications for Android and iOS, according to Oracle.

The framework also offers over 80 user interface components ready and support for Apache Cordova plug ins that can be used on different operating systems. Apache Cordova is a set of device interfaces that allow developers to access features such as cameras or accelerometers.

One of the challenges presented by the growing number of mobile enterprise applications is how to secure them and to which data can be accessed. But Oracle hopes to solve that problem with your MAF integrating Mobile Security Suite, which comes with features for containerization of applications, advanced authentication and authorization, log ins and integration with social networking.

Now available the updated Mobile Suite.

This is the second time in less than a week in which Oracle has upgrade their products to make life easier for mobile developers. On Thursday, the company released SOA Suite 12c, with the intention of making easier the integration of mobile applications software.

To achieve this, Oracle has implemented better support for integration standards REST (Representational State Transfer) and JSON (JavaScript Object Notation). Both using a lightweight construction, which makes them a good alternative for mobile applications. In addition, SOA Suite 12c can automatically convert XML to JSON.

SOA Suite 12c is available on Oracle Technology Network, and is scheduled to be generally available in July.
