Laura Vargas Carrillo, director general of the National System for Integral Family Development (SNDIF) said at the international forum "International Protection for Children and Adolescents" the event is an example of the importance and relevance of international protection for children and adolescents, to the context of humanitarian emergency that has arisen around the unaccompanied child migration.
Reaffirmed that since 1998 the National DIF in coordination with state DIF, it has hostels and modules, in which there is a program that allows accompany children who come to these places to each of their home states.
He noted that in 2011 were he served three thousand four hundred seventy-six unaccompanied migrant children, in 2013 seven thousand five hundred forty-four children and so far this year about six thousand children registered in this situation.
Ensured that one of the major efforts it is to expand coverage units and shelters that have to care for children and that during 2014 have created 4 new shelters on the southern border, which are located in the state of Chiapas : Comitan Comalapa, Tapachula and Arriaga.
Reported that from 2013 to 2014 they have served 30,000 unaccompanied minors in both the southern border and the northern border in the 49 units and shelters that exist in the border states, of which about 19,000 are Mexican children infants and other foreigners; that has 61 community centers protect children not only house the children perform preventive actions.
He added that through the "Inter-Table Dialogue on Children and Adolescents Unaccompanied Migrant" that the National DIF leads and installed since 2011, it seeks to promote institutional coordination and exchange of strategic information to the appropriate measures and joint mechanisms to guarantee the rights of children and adolescents unaccompanied.
He said he is still working on the specialized training Officers Child Protection since 2013 has managed to train 425 officers by the DIF.
