Neoguri typhoon that passed near Tokyo after good sweep aside the Japanese archipelago for several days, was downgraded Friday morning to the rank of tropical depression, the National Meteorological Agency said.
Neoguri pierced the heart of southern Japan on Thursday night to Friday (local time) to approach Chiba prefecture, east of Tokyo, shortly after 0500 local (22H00 GMT Thursday), accompanied by strong storms to the sea and major waves of several meters, according to NHK television images.
