Bus accident in Haiti: 23 dead and 37 wounded when

At least 23 people dead and 37 wounded is the balance of a bus accident happened today in the small town of Morne Tapion in northwest Haiti, according to the prime minister, Laurent Lamothe, in his Twitter account. 

Lamothe expressed "deep concern" for the "terrible accident" caused when the bus plunged down a ravine over 15 meters. 

Parallel information disseminated by radio of Port say the number of deaths and injuries caused the collapse of medical facilities in the nearby town of Petit-Goave, hampering further relief process. 



The radius of Port au Prince said the vehicle was headed Jeremei town in western Haiti, and several of the injured were taken by helicopter to nearby communities. 

"We are issuing instructions to immediately investigate the causes for this unfortunate accident," Lamothe said in his Twitter account, which often used to report all types of activities and official decisions. 

"We have 23 dead, including men, women and children, including a baby less than a year," said the magistrate Joseph Léandre, according to the reproduction of their words heard on radio stations in the Haitian capital. 

The official said that ten people died in the cliff and the rest in the hospital to which they were conducted. 
This type of fatal accident has become an unfortunate habit in various parts of the country due to the poor state of the roads, the poor transport service and the excessive number of passengers are crammed into these vehicles. EFE
