Why do great ideas come in the shower and then you forget?

Not that you're clueless, the culprit is the default neural network

Imagine this scene: at work or school let you make a report, so you spend hours arranging ideas. When you feel that your brain is already stretched, you give up, and maybe you decide to take a bath.

Just when raindrops touch your head eureka !, everything comes to you and try to memorize every word; but when you go and look for pen and paper, the ideas disappear as if by magic.

Why is this? Is it because you do not pay attention or memory failure? Do not worry, science says that the culprit is the neural network by default.

According to the news portal ABC, these brain regions are activated only when they are relaxed or "decoupled", ie when we are about to sleep or take a bath, but when we think and write down ideas immediately activates the area TPN (task positive network), related activities requiring alertness area.

The activity of the neural network by default begins in the prefrontal cortex and a failure in it influences the development of autism, schizophrenia and Alzheimer.

The network also allows us to "daydream", but when someone presses us to think of an activity, it is disconnected.
