The country has 129,000 people with Chronic Kidney Disease (ECR) and it is estimated that by 2025 there will be 212,000 cases and 160,000 deaths related to this condition due to the increase of diabetes and hypertension.
According to a study by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), less than half of those with the disease being treated.
The medical director for Baxter in Latin America, Angélica Rivera, announced about that next year will reach a web platform to remotely monitor patients with renal insufficiency.
With these actions, he said, Mexico will become the first country in Latin America with this technology.
He explained that the application allows the doctor to collect and send data as the amount of fluid drained, vital signs and the patient's weight, among other things, in order to notice any signs of alarm early.

Note that the Chronic Renal Disease (ECR) occurs when the kidneys stop working and if not addressed, or dying, cause death.
