Microsoft today sued Samsung company, leader in the smartphone market, for alleged failure to pay for the use of patents.
The American software giant accused the South Korean firm had violated a patent agreement signed by both companies in 2011.
This is the Android operating system that Samsung uses in its smartphones. The agreement sets out that South Koreans must pay some sort of licensing fee for every smartphone sold.
The lawsuit filed Friday before a court in New York said that after the purchase of Nokia by Microsoft, Samsung failed to comply with the agreement of 2011
