The tropical cyclone "July" became a category 1 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale in the Mexican Pacific, but remains at a distance of 2,195 miles west-southwest of Cabo San Lucas in Baja California Sur, reported the Meteorological Service of Mexico (SMM).
According to the last part posted on its website by the NMS, 04.00 local time (9.00 GMT), the hurricane "is moving west-northwest away from the coast of Mexico," so that "no risk" to the country.
"Julio" moves at a speed of 28 mph and has sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour and gusts of 150 kilometers per hour
The SMM, which will provide the next part at 10.00 local time, on Tuesday forecast the formation of six tropical storms and four hurricanes the rest of the hurricane season in the Pacific, one of which will have a force of medium to large in Saffir-Simpson category.
The forecast for the rest of the season is similar to the number of cyclones that have formed since last May in the Pacific, of which one, the storm Boris, hit the territory of Mexico off the coast of Chiapas, said the entity.
The SMM considered in its forecast that the number of cyclones is higher than the annual average for the likely development of the phenomenon of "child" of 60 percent from August to October and 75 percent from November to January.
This season has already formed the Amanda, Cristina, and Hernan Iselle hurricanes and tropical storms Boris, Douglas, Elida, Fausto and Genevieve, plus Julio; if only Boris hit the Mexican territory off the coast of Chiapas.
The names of the next cyclone season in the Pacific will be Karina, Lowell, Marie, Norbert, Odile, Polo, Rachel and Simon; and Atlantic, Cristobal, Dolly, Edouard, Fay, Gonzalo, Hanna and Isaiah.
