Health confirms two more cases of cholera

The Ministry of Health in Hidalgo reported yesterday, two more cases of cholera identified in Mixquiahuala, in the community of La Cañada, which affected two girls of 10 years. 

The Secretary of Health, Dolores Pineapple Osorio explained that these cases were detected on 29 June, and are being treated, and continue observation. Recall that in addition to these five confirmed so far this year cases. The first three were found in Tlaxcoapan. 

The doctor explained that the SSH has offered over two million 250 000 General Enquiries in the state for stomach problems. Of these, 58,000 were 306 patients with diarrhea, and those who were granted treatment according to their diagnosis. In addition to 5000 September 34 laboratory samples, where the first three confirmed cases were taken. 



Dolores Osorio emphasized that although there is no epidemiological alert in the state, as happened last year when 162 cases occurred mainly in the Huasteca, if necessary strengthen preventive measures to prevent outbreaks and infections. 

He recalled that the most effective measure remains hand washing, eating cooked foods and chlorinated or disinfected water. 

Over the last two cases, noted that workers brigades of Health conducted overlooking locals to try to detect more cases without any notification so far. Similarly, the Commission for Protection against Health Risks of Hidalgo performed several tests to detect the origin of vitro, finding water and uncontaminated food, so these will be discarded origin. 

"Everything indicates that the reason was lack of cleanliness. Remember that hygiene is essential to avoid infection and contagion." 

He insisted that although the secretariat has launched an intense media campaign for citizens to not let your guard down with preventive measures, it is necessary that each person is responsible for their hygiene.
