EXTREME WEATHER IN SONORA Someone dies of heatstroke

The Ministry of Health in Sonora reported deaths as a result of the high temperatures that have been recorded in the state so far this summer season increased to three. 

The director of the state agency Epidemiology, Sergio Olvera Alba, said the third death occurred in Hermosillo and is about a person males 50 years old, who was killed by heat stroke. 

He said that those deaths that have occurred so far have been a result of heat stroke. 

The Health Ministry also said it has registered 138 cases of heat-attributable diseases, representing an increase of 123 percent compared with the incidence reported to the same time last year. 



"Although there have been more cases relating to dehydration have been mild and have not complicated the lives of people," he said. 

He said that of the 138 people that have required specialized medical care over the effects on health due to high temperatures, 12 have been for heat stroke, 103 from dehydration, heat stroke and four 19 sunburn. 

He added that to date have presented 73 000 879 cases of diarrheal diseases and the most affected are under 15, so it is important to ensure the steady and adequate washing hands. 

RECOMMENDATIONS 

* Taking on the day of plenty of fluids 

* Using clothing with long sleeves and light colors 

* Do not self-medicate and go with the specialist in case of illness 

* Use hats, umbrellas or hats for sun 

* Avoid exposure to high temperatures between 11:00 and 17:00, and avoid sugary drinks, alcohol and coffee because they dehydrate the body 

Reported temperature of 43 degrees in the shade 

Conagua Sonora reported that recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius in the shade and is forecast to continue hot weather with high humidity. 

The Basin Agency Northwestern Conagua said in its daily weather report, the highest temperature record was filed at the climatological station Cuauhtemoc dam, located in the town of Tubutama northwest of the state. 

He noted that other reports of elevated temperature were 42 degrees in the shade in Pitiquito, Sonoyta 41, 40 in Santa Rosa II and 39.6 Celsius in Altar. 

Conagua noted that the environment is kept warm to hot with high humidity, anticipating maximum of around 35 degrees in the shade temperatures. 

The main rains that occurred in the last hours in Sonora were 36 mm in Arizpe, 16.8 in Yécora and 10 at the Cuauhtémoc prey.
