Tornadoes leave at least one death in Nebraska

A child under five died and 19 others were injured after the tornado pass through a village in the state of Nebraska, United States, authorities reported yesterday. 


The storms devastated a small population of just 350 residents and transmitted by the CNN television images showed few houses left standing in the middle of a completely swept away by the force of the phenomenon area. 


Pilger's population was evacuated to shelters in the early hours of Monday which prevented the passage of major human phenomenon losses afternoon a police spokesman said. 

More than half of the people has completely gone, said County Commissioner Stanton, Jerry Weatherholt, who described the situation disastrous, as rescuers searched the homes and businesses in search of victims. 

According to Police Chief Stanton, Mike Unger, between 50 and 75 percent of Pilger was severely damaged or destroyed by the storm. "It's total devastation," he said.
