The Ministry of Health Planning (SSY) ordered preventive actions in the area south of the state against possible attacks by the black widow spider, said the head of Zoonoses Program, Daly Gabino Ortiz Martínez.
He said the actions decided upon detection of the presence of specimens of the spider "Latrodectus mactans", known as Black Widow, in the municipalities of Tahdziú, Tzucacab and three police stations Peto, according to Notimex.
He stressed that the head of the agency, Jorge Eduardo Mendoza Mézquita, arranged for the people of that region at least seven vials of the antidote in order to serve the same number of people if they suffer a bite.
Municipal coordination
Also activated coordination with municipal authorities to install these protocols by poisonous insect.
