The State Department of the United States on Friday renewed its warning about the dangers of travel to certain places in Mexico due to "security threat" posed by organized crime groups in the country.
"In 2013, 81 Americans were killed in Mexico, ten more than in 2012"
Thus advised to avoid travel unless strictly necessary to the state of Tamaulipas; border areas of the state of Michoacán (except in the cities of Morelia and Lazaro Cardenas), and the border area of Piedras Negras and Nuevo Laredo, in the state of Coahuila.
The same recommendation is in place to Zacatecas and Nayarit, which borders Sinaloa, a state that has established one of the "most powerful" criminal organizations in the country and believe it is sure that only the city of Mazatlan.
