We are "eating the planet" with an excessive speed. That is, in short, the grand conclusion Overcapacity Day the Earth held Tuesday. According to the Global Footprint Network, WWF partner worldwide organization, which analyze the ecological footprint of man, so far have overcome the world's capacity to regenerate what we consumed. For 14 years this indicator capturing fast to use our land resources was reached on October 1. This time it was on August 19.
"If we want to build a future for our children, we must preserve the natural capital we have left and sustainably manage the world's resources," says Marco Lambertini, CEO of WWF International. "We are abusing the Earth's limited resources."
